Kia has unveiled the 2012 Kia K2 sedan at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show. The new Kia K2 is positioned as a premium small car with developed a style and a better quality and performance, and should be offered a very competitive segment for 16 percent of all new car sales in China. Kia K2 is the next step of the strategy Kia to better respond to customers around the world in developing and marketing, which reflect local needs and tastes. After the introduction of the cee’d family of vehicles in segment C and Venga B-segment MPV, which is designed and built specifically for European customers, the new Kia K2 is a clear sign of the Kia to become a leading brand cars in China.

The Kia K2 has been completely redesigned for the Chinese market, based on popular style sedan K5, including sophisticated lines that create a dynamic exterior, daring and sophisticated. The front has the Kia signature “tiger nose” radiator grille and emerge through a high-tech image, of the bold and innovative design fog lamp, large air intake and dynamic swept back headlamps. A side character line, the air vent panel and trunk side add to the sporty image of Kia K2 while the rear view features a two-tone bumper and the lights of modern combination.

The 2012 Kia K2 sedan driver-oriented interior offers a futuristic feel of space and comfort and drivers will enjoy a bunch of 3-cylinder supervision instrument cluster, fabric lined door panels, steering wheel leather, power button engine and the smart key. Measuring 4,370 mm (length) of 1,700 mm (width) by 1460 mm (height), Kia K2 is longer, wider and lower than the previous generation Kia Rio has the longest wheelbase (2570 mm) of its category. The dimensions allow expanded Kia K2 need to interior space best-in-class and a large luggage capacity of 500 liters (VDA). Use of space is further enhanced thanks to the 60:40 split rear seats. The Kia K2 will be available to Chinese customers in six trim levels with engines of 1.4 liter gasoline or 1.6 liter Gamma mated with a manual or automatic transmission.
